Overseas Vessel

All overseas ships (including yachts) and aircraft are met as soon as they arrive in Samoa.

In the case of vessels the Owner or Master of the vessel is responsible for making a full declaration as to the amounts and origin of meat and other ships stores, and to declare any animals on board as pets or cargo.
In all cases it is the responsibility of the aircraft's owner or ships agent to advise Quarantine at least 24 hours prior to arrival of the vessels, ETA any ships pets, and any passenger numbers aboard.
Any cargo carried must also be advised together with full details of each consignment.

The Quarantine Officer will make a risk decision on the ships stores and decide whether any restrictive action needs to be taken (e.g. sealing the stores while the vessel is in port).

The vessels garbage will also be under Quarantine control and will need to be collected and disposed of in accordance with instructions from the Quarantine Officer.
Compliance visits will be made to the vessel whilst it is in port.
